Horror genre

Notes from Wednesday in class (incase you missed them)

Psycho - Alfred Hitchcock - 1960 - print or copy off a synopsis from imdb website
Then copy this - Production techniques:
Music - establishes suspense during introductory titles. Discordant and staccato violin contrasts sharply with longer, drawn out strings as titles fade into scene 1 (Sam and Marion at 'lunch') This scene establishes the nature of their relationship. In your own words explain how a) Sam b) Marion feels about their relationship.

Foreshadowing: a common convention used in horror genre. Look for this in the first scenes - signs or clues/hints about what is to come e.g. Marion "I'm going to spend the weekend in bed"). List as many as you can.

Notes on Psycho - print out and put into visual diary

Make notes from these in your diary (you do not need to print out)
